Mauritius to Sydney with a stopover in Perth, Australia.

Sunday 21st August 2016, we arrived at Perth airport around 9 am, both our luggage had been tampered with. Jame’s padlock was missing and my Samsonite suitcase with the special TSA locks was damaged and no longer operating. Not a great way to end a holiday.

Perth is the capital of Western Australia, in a remote part of Australia.

Unfortunately, during our stay, it rained and we were not able to explore the city more, however, it was good to unwind before heading back to Sydney.

1. Accommodation

The Fraser Suites are a stylish serviced apartments overlooking the Swan River, WACA Grounds and the Crown Casino which is a 7 minutes drive away.

The serviced apartment has a moderate kitchenette with a conventional microwave which was a nice surprise and actually came in handy.

A comfortable stopover stay about 35 minutes walk from the CBD and easy to do.

The coffee from the lobby bar is quite good too.

I highly recommend a stay here.

2. Queens Garden

We love walking and exploring and enjoyed visiting Queens Park which is well looked after and across the road from the Fraser Suites. The garden was opened in 1899 and named after Queen Victoria.

3. Northbridge

Our final day, we strolled around the city and had brunch at Little Willy’s cafe in Northbridge. Little Willy’s makes the most delicious bagels and breakfast wraps. This tiny cafe is super busy with both dine in and takeaway orders.

4. Shopping

Northbridge has a few cool chic unique stores worth visiting.  The CBD has the same stores like any other Australian capital city e.g Myers, David Jones, Sportsgirl, Forever New and Zara. Zara is humongous here and I managed to finally find myself some trendy denim shorts.

For Designer Brands go to King Street for stores like Chanel, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Karen Miller, Jan Logan, Emporio Armani and more.

5. Activities

In my opinion, Perth did not come across as an exciting city and there did not appear to be a whole lot to do unless you are willing to spend money to do tours outside Perth CBD. I feel Perth is merely a stopover city to get to other places in WA.

Our 4 weeks journey from Sydney, Broome, Perth, Mauritius and our 2 days and 1 night stopover in Perth was over and we arrived safely back in Sydney. My partner and I had an amazing adventure and enjoyed the company of my family and exploring Mauritius together. Mauritius is an exotic part of the world that I hope everyone is able to visit and enjoy its beauty and culture. Mauritius is one of our favourite trips and a destination we will cherish forever.
