Jervis Bay is located in the Shoalhaven region of NSW, a popular holiday destination with magnificent beaches, National Parks and stunning coastline.
You will find many wonderful things to do and see here. The best time of the year to visit for swimming is December – February where the maximum temperature is between 23 – 24 degrees.

Beaches
There are a number of beaches to choose from in Jervis Bay. The beaches in Jervis are unpatrolled therefore please be cautious as the currents are very strong.
- Hyam Beach is one of my favourite beaches in Australia. The 3.64 kilometers beach has white silky sand and gorgeous crystal blue sea. There are always a lot of people on the beach especially during Easter and Christmas, make sure to visit early for parking.
- Chinaman’s Beach is right next to Hyam beach and is also part of the Jervis Bay National Park/Marine Reserve. This beach has white silky sand however much smaller than Hyam Beach and can get overcrowded.
- Moona Moona Creek Huskisson is a great area for families, we love this beach as the current runs quite fast through here and you are well protected from the ocean that you can also walk across to and catch the big waves.
- Murray Beach is a nice tranquil beach located in the Booderee National Park right near a bay across from Bowen Island. Please see link where entry fee applies. Motor vehicle is $11.00 AUD – https://parksaustralia.gov.au/booderee/plan/passes-and-permits.html

- Jervis Bay Extreme –
We did the Eco Whale watching tour 4 years ago, unfortunately, my body did not take too kindly to the roughness of the sea that day, however, we did see dolphins and whales on this tour. The best time for dolphin and whale watching is between May and November.
