Beachcomber Resorts in Mauritius

La Mauricia Beachcomber Resort

Enjoyed my stay at this Grand Baie resort back in 2005 on the north coast of Mauritius. The location is perfect, staff hospitable and the hotel has all the facilities one needs on holidays.  We stayed in the Standard room overlooking the hotel’s tropical gardens on the ground floor.

La Maurica is within walking distance of Grand Baie village and is the main tourists location. Here you will find a range of restaurants, bars, clubs and shops.

The resort facilities are: –

  • Private beach overlooking Grand Baie bay.
  • 2 restaurants including dining on the sand at Le Nautic.
  • A wide range of water and land activities including a sports centre, 3 tennis courts and a diving centre.
  • A wellness centre with swimming pool, hammam and sauna.
  • Kids club.
  • An optional All-Inclusive package.

The cuisine at La Mauricia was amazing during breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Make sure to watch a traditional Mauritian Sega dance performance here at this resort, you will be impressed. And if you are lucky like me, you may even get a chance to join in. Don’t be shy as you will enjoy it.

After dinner, we enjoyed some good music and dancing at the resorts own nightclub at the time.

Le Paradis Beachcomber Resort

This hotel is situated on the south west coast of the island by the Morne Peninsula and is the perfect location for honeymooners who want total seclusion and luxury. The Paradis Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa has a lagoon on one side and a huge golf course on the other, with the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Morne Brabant Mountain in the background.

I enjoyed the luxury of this resort and being situated right next to Le Morne mountain. Our seaside bungalow was perfect, however rather quiet for 2 young women.

We stayed in the spacious Tropical Beachfront room that extends to a lounge area and terrace. This room is a several feet away from the Morne beach and the view of the ocean is stunning.

The resort facilities are: –

  • A 3km beach around a turquoise lagoon.
  • A wide range of land and water and sports.
  • 4 restaurants with a variety of cuisine including a sand dining experience and 4 additional restaurants at Dinarobin Beachcomber.
  • Paradis Nature Spa includes a spa salon, 2 saunas, 2 hammam rooms, relaxing pool and more.
  • An 18-hole, par 72 golf course within walking distance from your rooms and a stunning background of mountains and the ocean.
  • Access to Dinarobin Hotel just down the road.
  • Buggy service provided.
  • A kids club including a swimming pool, games and activities.
  • Baby sitting also available.

Mauritius is the birth place of my parents and an island that I hope everyone can have the pleasure of enjoying. It is one of the best relaxing and fun destinations I have travelled too and I look forward to returning in the near future.
