Club Med was a great resort and being a solo traveller I was so lucky to meet other solo travellers too from around the world, even Australians. Everyone would do their own activities in the day and in the evening we formed a group and met for dinner and evening shows at the resort before heading out into Phuket nightlife.
Accommodation –
The Club Med Resort is in a good location in Kata Bay. The resort has a large swimming pool, 2 restaurants, 2 bars, a well being centre where you can enjoy a hot tub and a range of sporting activities e.g Yoga, snorkelling, volleyball and scuba diving.
My Thai style Deluxe Room was spacious and comfortable with a furnished balcony overlooking the garden.
The all-inclusive resort package included accommodation, sports and leisure, dining, wi-fi, entertainment, kids club and taxes.

Phuket airport 60 minutes away from Club Med and Phuket Town is a 20 minute drive away.
Phuket –
The 3 km Patong Beach is the most popular destination in Phuket and is an ideal place to party and play. By night the town has a bustling nightlife which includes lots of restaurants, beer bars, Go Go Bars and night clubs. The nightlife is centered around Soi Bangla (Bangla Road). Patong is 20 kms from Club Med.
Massages in Phuket are sensational and I found the cost of massages during my visit, cheap. Ensure you treat yourself to a full body massage if not then at least a foot massage. You won’t regret it!

If you can get a good tip for a tailor why not get an outfit made.
Tours –
June Bahtra Day Cruise: The Spirit of Phang Nga Bay
I enjoyed a tour on the “June Bahtra” junket cruising through the mangroves, seeing the floating village called Panyee village and breathtaking views of Phang Nga Bay. James Bond Island is a famous landmark in Phang Nga Bay. ‘The Man with the Golden Gun’ was filmed here. Phang Nga Bay has limestone cliffs and emerald-green ocean. A Thai buffet lunch and hotel transfers were included.
Tour cost approximately 3700 Baht = $141 AUD.

Phi Phi Island cruise –
Phi Phi island is a must see place. The island has limestone cliffs, white sand beaches and emerald-green water. My tour included stops to Viking Caves, Pileh Lagoon, Lei islands, Loh Samah Bay and Ton Sai Bay.
Ton Sai Bay is where we had leisure time on the beach. I swam, sun-baked and enjoyed the markets here.
Look at the travel tips on the market link attached for further information on Phi Phi and watch out for those monkeys.
