A mere 1.5 hours drive from Sydney, located in Medlow Bath, this stunning historical hotel is a destination everyone should come and enjoy. If you can not stay overnight, why not start the day with the historical tour then lunch or dinner. My favourite rooms were sitting in front of the fireplace downstairs and in the ladies chatting quarters via the Salon Du Te.
Accommodation
The Hydro Majestic Hotel – Built in 1904 by Mark Foy, what an incredible building. If only walls could talk. The Hotel’s establishments stretches out over 1.1 kilometres with the Belgravia, Heritage and Hargravia and Delmonte Accommodation, The Pavillion, The Boiler House, The Wintergarden and the Salon Du The.
We enjoyed our stay in the Belgravia Valley View Room with its large window view of the amazing valley.

Dining
The Wintergarden High Tea – Normally I have the standard high tea with sandwiches and cakes but this time we enjoyed the Asian High Tea with champagne.
The Wintergarden – The cocktails, food and service in the main dining room is exquisite 5 stars. If you are not able to stay the night, book for high tea, lunch or dinner. You wont be disappointed.
The Magestic Hydro Pavilion – Both a historic museum and a cafe with souvenirs you will definitely be incline to make a purchase or two. Not a fan of buffet breakfast resuming so I skipped my included breakfast and enjoyed a fresh hot meat pie here instead.

Attractions
3 Sisters – One of the main attractions to come and see in the Blue Mountains. The view from the 3 Sisters is so breathtaking, you will not be disappointed.
Leura town – A quaint little town only an 11 minutes drive from the Hydro Majestic. Head over to Josophans for a delicious Belgian hot chocolate, I promise you will love it. Or indulge in some sweets. This town has cafes, restaurants, a couple of well known stores and some great kitchenware shops. We walked away with a fabulous 12 set cocktail glasses package as our Blue Mountains souvenir.

Tours
Hydro Majestic History tour – One of the most fascinating historical tours I have ever done. A must do tour at 11 am or 3 pm daily. Make sure to pre-book prior to arrival. It is one thing to walk up and down the aisles and admire each room but it’s even better to understand the makings of each room and hear all the stories starting from 1904.
Costs: $10.00 per person

Events
Christmas In July – Christmas in July is a popular dinner event well known here at The Hydo Majestic and sells out so fast. This year is already sold out so make sure you book as soon as you can in 2022. Event held beginning of July through to mid August. Please click on link below to see what the 2021 menu looks like. I hope to experience it next year.

Snowing in the Mountains
I have not seen snow since the Year 2000 and was pleasantly surprised when it unexpectedly snowed on our arrival. Apparently, the locals said they have not seen snow in the Blue Mountains for 5 years. We just managed to catch a glimpse of the valley and a gorgeous sunset before it snowed in full force the following day.
We had a magical time in Blue Mountains from sunset, the valley, 3 Sisters to snow and look forward to a return visit in a year or so.

Hi Christine, I have never stayed in the Hydro Majestic. I wish to be included in that holiday trip next July. I will be off the Juror list then.🌹
